“Vive la Marriage!” was the cry heard repeatedly throughout the traveling market. Julianne and Didier had just completed their ceremony at the Mayor’s office in Loctudy and were now strolling through the market amidst shoppers and celebration. It felt cinematic, and I was so excited to be there with my camera. The previous few days I had spent exploring Ste. Marine, staying at the Hotel du Bac, while the wedding party had been busy finalizing all of the details (arranging boat transport, finding a baker, and securing a bagpiper) Everything came together perfectly! After the ceremony and market, we all headed out to Ile Aux Moutons – a small incredibly beautiful island about 3o mins off the coast. The ceremony was conducted by Julianne’s brother, right on the rocks with the Bay of Biscay in the background. This was followed by oysters, champagne, bagpipe music, and some impromptu dancing. The ride back to Ste. Marine was a breeze, the weather was beautiful and the ocean was as close to being glassy as I could imagine. Everyone reconvened in town, had a coffee and a few games of Petanque (French Bocce) were played next to the harbor. The final element of this amazing day was a fresh seafood dinner at the Bistrot du Bac. I am so excited to share this sneak peek… I hope you enjoy the images!
